For people who struggle to stay present — which, most days, is everyone.
Through the day
Unwander interrupts you a handful of times a day at moments you cannot predict, and invites you to notice where you are. That is the whole interaction. You can answer from the lock screen with one tap, and nothing happens — no screen, no app, no count anywhere.
The timing is deliberately unpredictable. A reminder that arrives at the same time every day gets learned and then ignored within about a week. There is no way to set a fixed schedule, because that would quietly break the only thing the app does.
Each evening
Once a day the app asks how present you managed to be. You give it a rating out of five and, if you feel like it, a few words. It takes about ten seconds.
A day can only be logged on the day itself. Once midnight passes it is closed. Answered later it would be a reconstruction, and a journal made of guesses is worth less than one with gaps in it.
What it is not
There are no courses, no sessions and nothing to complete. There is no chart of how you are trending, no score, and nothing that tells you how many days you missed. A missed day is simply blank.
It keeps one number: the run of days you have logged in a row. That is the only figure in the app, and it exists because it is the one thing that brings you back.
Privacy
No account, no login, no email address, no analytics, no tracking. There is no server, so there is nowhere for your writing to go. Your ratings and notes live on your iPhone and sync through your own private iCloud, where we have no way to read them.
Details in the privacy policy, which is short because there is little to say.
Unwander is being built now and is not yet released.
It will be an iPhone app, sold as a subscription with a free trial and no advertising. If you would like to know when it ships, email hello@s7alab.com and we will write to you once — when it is out.
